![]() The car is scheduled to go into the dealer on 3/27. If you're certain that the 335d doesn't have an oxygen sensor heater, then I'm not sure what to do from here. It showed a list of monitors, and three types of statuses:Įvery monitor either listed as Ready (green), Not Ready (red), or not supported (forgot this color)įor this reason, I don't think it mattered whether they knew my car was a diesel or not. They plugged this cable into my OBDii port, then clicked a few things on the computer. They performed the following steps to check for readiness. Do not clear faults - this just set all readiness bits to 1.Īre you saying the 335d does not have an oxygen sensor heater? This can take some time so it is possibly waived in some states. These requirements were changed so the DDE must complete (2) successful regenerations for this to complete. It appears to me that it is the PM filter monitor is not set. Interesting in that O2 sensor heater monitor is only for a petrol (spark ignition) not a diesel (compression ignition) engine.Īre you sure they knew your car was a diesel? ![]() One was accelerating on to an interstate and the next exit was a few miles away, and the other was pulling out of a retail establishment and accelerating up a hill to keep out of the way of an oncoming vehicle whose velocity I had misjudged. ![]() Over the last couple of years I have encountered limp mode a handful of times, and a couple were in rather awkward situations, but I was still able to "limp" to a safe spot to park and read the codes before clearing. I want to be able to read the codes when they occur. I'm just guessing that your problem is unrelated to the JBD itself, although at least one of those codes suggests otherwise.īTW, although it is more convenient and thus tempting to do, I decided not to put the CAN tool on "auto-clear". I think Oregon is a CARB state, and probably has the same test regime as California. They wanted to charge a diagnostic fee of $200+ (If they found the problem to not be covered under the extended warranty) so I told them I will drive it around some more and to not check.Ĭan the JBD set a tuner detection code without throwing a check engine light? I hope my warranty will not be voided.įWIW, I live in Oregon, and about two weeks ago went to the DEQ (emissions test location) with the JBD installed and at 100% (this latter item is probably irrelevant to this discussion), and passed the OBD test with no issues. When I dropped it off, I also mentioned that I failed smog due monitors not being ready. I'm a little concerned now as I just dropped the car off for another problem (leaking red charge pipe.AGAIN after being repaired on 11/2013) I did not reset the codes after pulling the JBD. I have seen the JBD set a tuner detection code when I first messed with it, so I wouldnt be surprised if it set pending codes once it was removed also due to the computer having learned the JBD. If any emission-related part on your vehicle isĭefective, the part will be repaired or replacedĭid you reset the codes after you pulled the JBD? I expect to pull the JBD and then drive for two weeks before smogging. Made by BMW NA to ensure that your vehicle If your vehicle fails a Smog Check inspection,Īll necessary repairs and adjustments will be – For 3 years or 50,000 miles, whichever occursġ. Which is funny, because you dont have to smog for the first 6 years. I dont think it fits due to the 3 year thing. Here is the smog related CA emissions portion.
